A massive thank you to all the families who visited our Scholastic Book Fair last week. In total we raised £669.13, which has enabled us to spend £267.65 on new books for school. This is amazing and our highest total raised since we started. These books will be heading to the library and class reading corners so keep an eye out for the new titles. Thank you again
Tuesday 11th February was Safer Internet Day and the children were were reminded about the ways in which they can keep themselves safe when using devices online.
Mrs Sweeney started the day by sharing the story ‘Chicken Clicking’ in assembly. Reception and Year 1 will be watching a video clip about Smartie the Penguin who will share reminders with them about keeping safe and not sharing personal information online. The children in Year 2 and Year 3 have joined a BBC Live lesson, which focussed on the importance of being safe when playing online games and the scams which might appear. The lesson shared tips for how to spot scams and explained what to do if they think something does not look right.
Yesterday, our Trust Inclusion Lead Mrs MaGill delivered a parents workshop all about sensory needs and how to deliver sensory workshops in the home. As this was a practical session, we do not have a PowerPoint we can share, however if you would like copies of the handouts or to talk to Mrs MaGill about sensory circuits when she is next in, please contact the office on office@ankervalley.org
Today, it’s Number Day and the children have amazed us with their fabulous number themed costumes. A big thank you to all the grownups who have helped to create them too!

This week is Children's Mental Health Week and to start off our week, we have been joined by Michelle from the Mental Health Team for a special assembly. The children remembered lots about emotions from our previous work and talked confidently about how different situations would make them feel.
