Kestrels made Christingles ready for their special assembly this afternoon. They have learnt about the different parts of the Christingle and what they represent. They have done a super job at learning their lines ready for the assembly and cannot wait to share their learning with all the mums and dads.

This week, children from Year 3 had the opportunity to spend their first night away from home at Laches Wood. The children had a fabulous time learning about the Stone Age through a variety of different activities, before settling down for the evening in the dormitories. The children were fabulous and a real credit to the school and their families. They even got a sneaky peek into some of the activities that they will do there on their Year 6 residential.
Herons have had a fantastic start to the new week! We have had a visit from two of our parents who came to talk about their role in the police. We got to ask lots of questions, see lots of different equipment and even have a go at finger printing. Herons would like to say a big thank you for your time!
At Anker Valley we love new books and the opportunity to read together. These are the books we have purchased from the kind donation of £100 we received as a school. The books are new releases recommended by The Book Trust. These beautiful new books will further enhance our reading areas in each classroom. Thank you again to Mrs Couchman for her kind donation
We had our first spell of wintery weather this week and in true Anker Valley style, we went out and embraced it! The children had great fun building snowmen and exploring the wintery conditions.
How exciting! Our very first proud note home from Mrs Horlor will be going out soon. This is to celebrate children going above and beyond! So keep your eyes peeled on your letterbox!
Year 1 have enjoyed their friendship workshop this afternoon! We have learnt some strategies to help us be even better friends and how to help others.
Congratulations to this week's stars from Dragonflies. We are super proud of you all!

Congratulations to our outstanding citizen this week, Billy. He has raised money for a charity that makes wigs for children and even had his own hair cut to make a wig. We are super proud of you Billy!
