Anti Bullying Week
Today is the start of Anti-Bullying Week, the children in Dragonflies and Herons were invited to come to school wearing odd socks to mark the start of this week in school.
This morning, they have had a special assembly where we have looked at what the word 'bullying' means. We discussed that bullying is the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. We discussed how bullying can happen face to face or online. In our assembly, we discussed who we could 'reach out' to if we needed to including staff at school, friends and parents. Throughout the week the children in Dragonflies and Herons will be discussing how to be a kind friend and will listen to a range of different stories exploring this theme.
