Football Training with Marc Albrighton

We were very lucky today to be joined by former Aston Villa and Leicester City player Marc Albrighton, who delivered football training sessions to each of our classes as part of our Sports Week.

The children learnt lots of new skills and even got to have a penalty shoot out! Huge thank you to Marc for joining us today!

Cheerleading with Cheer Sport Alpha

To start off Sports Week at Anker Valley, we were joined this morning by Cheer Sport Alpha. They carried out a cheerleading workshop with each of our classes and the final results were incredibly impressive! The children will all be bringing a leaflet home with them today, as Alpha offer clubs outside of school which parents might be interested in.

Kingfishers Day at Cadbury World

VE Day Celebrations at Anker Valley

Thank you to all of our families that were able to join us today for our VE Day celebrations and picnic on he field. Huge thanks also to the staff for organising the activities (especially Mrs Chyla and Mrs Wheeler for the incredible buffet.)

We were also joined by Lee the manager from the Co-op, who donated a pear tree with a beautiful plaque to commemorate this special day. What makes it even more special is, we are the only school in Staffordshire to receive one.

Herons had a fabulous time on their walking tour of Tamworth Town Centre as part of their Geography unit of work. They managed to spot lots of physical and human features, as well as make links to their History learning about William Macgregor and Sir Robert Peel! They had time for lunch in the park, before some time in the playground.
